Last Saturday, the 11th, we met the cheeses awarded in the Global Cheese Awards, among which are 10 of our cheeses.

Global Cheese Awards is “one of the country’s oldest and most respected industry events; celebrating producers and retailers of all sizes around the world.”
This competition was held for the first time in 1861 in Frome, England, and is considered one of the most important cheese competitions in the world.

Award Winning Cheeses
10 cheeses from Quesería La Antigua have been awarded in this edition of the Global Cheese Awards: 3 golds, 5 silvers and 2 bronzes. Do you want to know who the winners were?
Vellón de Fuentesaúco, Zamorano P.D.O.
Vellón Fuentesaúco, cured sheep’s cheese with paprika flakes and La Antigua Cremoso are the three references that have won the gold medal.
In addition, it is worth mentioning that the
Cream Cheese
has won the award for Best Cheese in its category.
We continue to know the winners, the five references that have obtained Silver have been:
Lactose-free soft sheep’s milk cheese
Semicured sheep’s cheese, Bio Semicured, Cured sheep’s cheese,
Candidum sheep’s cheese
(semi-cured cheese made from pasteurized ewe’s milk), and Queso de oveja curado picantón (cured pecorino cheese).
Finally, the two references that have obtained the Bronze are:
Lactose-free cured sheep’s cheese with Aniseed and chia
and Tempranillo aged sheep cheese, our seasonal cheese, matured on the skins of the Tempranillo grape.
