The IME award is a recognition for excellence
What a joy it is to bring home the IME award! In Quesería La Antigua de Fuentesaúco, we have been transmitting our love for cheese for more than 20 years, taking care of every detail of the production process, starting with the raw material: the best sheep’s milk from the grazing areas of Castilla y León, to the production and maturation of our cheese and its subsequent distribution. And it was yesterday when our founders Jesús Cruz and Fernando Fregeneda were awarded the IME Award as a family business by the University of Salamanca.
This prestigious award, granted through the Multidisciplinary Multidisciplinary Institute of Enterprises (IME) of the University of Salamanca, recognizes the work, achievements and ability to set an example for entrepreneurs and managers linked to the university. This project was born with the mission of developing the capabilities of individuals and business organizations to strengthen their contribution to economic development.
From Quesería La Antigua we want to send a message of gratitude to the University of Salamanca and we share that this award has an emotional component, as it occupies a prominent place in the heart of our company. In addition, we thank the entire team for making this possible, without them nothing could be done as it is being done. This achievement belongs to all of us.
More than a decade ago the relationship between Quesería La Antigua and the University of Salamanca began through the program La Antigua Educaprogram, which has allowed a number of school children to learn how to make cheese thanks to the Fundación General de la USAL.

Since our inception, we have strived to offer products of the highest quality, made with passion and respect for artisanal cheese-making traditions.
This award is a testament to our ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation at every stage of the production process, from the selection of raw materials to the maturation of our sheep cheeses. The distinction awarded by USAL is a recognition of the resilience and entrepreneurial spirit that has been fundamental to the success of Quesería La Antigua over the years.
In an increasingly competitive business environment, we have maintained our focus on quality, tradition, roots, sustainability and authenticity, values that have been the pillar of our company since its inception. This award is not only a tribute to our past, but also a boost for our future.
