Description
Visit to a sheep farm, passing through our cheese factory and to finish in style we will have a workshop to make your own cheese.
Discover and be part of the heart of Zamora’s cheese and sheep tradition with Quesoturismo.
A guided tour that starts at the sheep farm, one of the many that provide the raw material for our cheeses, where you can learn about the work in the field, the facilities and the care of the animals. Afterwards, we will visit our cheese factory La Antigua, where we will learn about the daily work of elaboration and maturation of our sheep cheeses. After these great experiences we will culminate with the elaboration of your own cheese that even after a small maturation you will be able to taste it.
What will you experience?
- We will start the visit at our factory from where we will move to the sheep farm in the area. There we will get to know the facilities and the sheep from which our treasure, raw sheep’s milk, comes from.
- Afterwards, we will return to our cheese factory and start by visiting the silos, where the sheep’s milk is collected and treated, as well as preserved.
- We continue through our workshop, where you can see the process of curdling, manufacturing, pressing and turning the cheese. The place where the magic begins.
- The time has come to learn about the maturation in the cellars. Here you will be able to see and smell the cheese, from its beginnings, with only a few days of ripening, to our oldest cheeses.
- For a culminating experience, after the visit, we will carry out what we have learned by making cheese on the spot, enjoying the magic of the curdling process and the subsequent tasting of your own cheese.
Beyond a gastronomic experience, it is an invitation to enjoy the tranquility, and the environment conducive to disconnect and immerse yourself in the rural environment.
The duration will be approximately 4 hours.
