Cheese in oil is a food with a lot of tradition. It is known that in the expeditions of Christopher Columbus to the New World. This product is closely linked to the ancient shepherds, as they could easily move around with it, using the oil as a method of preservation.

In Spain, the oil used for this purpose is olive oil, due to the great benefits that we all know. To introduce in oil,cheeses with a certain degree of maturation are used, so it is generally accompanied with a red wine.

Besides being used as a method of preservation, it gives the cheese a unique and special flavor. In order to facilitate the assimilation of these characteristics by the cheese, it is usually cut into pieces and aged for 3-4 months in a cool place.

Olive oil, from a health point of view, also provides us with a series of benefits for our health, due to its properties:
